The Bowie Bears made the playoffs last season after a 7-3 regular season, but in 2011, the Bears are going to look much different. After losing 28 to graduation, Bowie Head Coach Robert Padilla returns just 11 seniors, but what they lack in size and depth, they make up with speed and enthusiasm.
"We are going to be young, and that can work for you and against you. When you're young, you are going to make a lot of mistakes, but at the same time, these guys are going to be excited to play." Senior Linebacker Joey Hidalgo added, "We have lots of young people on the team, but lots of talent and speed, we should do alright this year."
Bowie opens up the season Friday, August 26th at home against Clint at Baty-Simmang Stadium.
