EL PASO- Former Texas State Senator Eliot Shapleigh is tight lipped on the arrest of Superintendent Garcia.
In the past, Shapleigh publicly accused Garcia of corruption in the El Paso School District. Last November, Shapleigh wrote a letter to Garcia stating he had asked for investigations regarding potential violations of state and federal law Shapleigh claimed that an 80 million dollar discrepancy existed in the district.
He stated, "We need competent federal officials to subpoena documents, interview witnesses and do a real investigation."
However, today he doesn’t want to step out into the public and talk about the investigation.
