16-Year-Old Teen Charged in 1-Year-Old Nephews Hit and Run Death

DICKINSON, Texas -  A teenager has been charged in connection with his nephew's hit-and-run death.

Dickinson police said an 18-month-old boy was hit by a pickup truck as he played outside on Sunday.  The boy suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.  Investigators said the 16-year-old driver was the boy's uncle.

Police tracked the teen down and found the pickup truck.  The teen told investigators he didn't see the boy and he left the scene because he was scared.

The teenager has been charged with third-degree felony accident involving serious bodily injury or death.  Police said he doesn't have a driver's license.
