EL PASO- Affordable housing is coming to South El Paso.
The City of El Paso and Project Vida have just broke ground on ten housing units. They hope the apartments will provide neighborhood stabilization to the area near the Chamizal. The apartments are part of a 30-unit construction project that will provide homes to over two dozen low-to-moderate income families
"These homes are going to be critically important because it's so important to have a healthy, vibrant community," says Estella Castanon-Williams, EPISD Board President.
"These are the kinds of programs that El Paso needs. It creates jobs. It creates a place where people can actually live," says City of El Paso Spokesperson Emma Acosta.
The units are expected to be finished by December 22nd.
