ALAMOGORDO, NM - A Holloman Airman is in critical condition at an El Paso hospital after he was shot on base early Sundaymorning.
Members of the 49th Security Forces Squadron shot the airman at Holloman Air Force Base after what a spokesperson called "an altercation" on base.
He was rushed to an El Paso hospital, where he's now recovering from surgery.
"It is a serious matter any time security forces personnel discharge a weapon in the line of duty. There is an ongoing investigation in order to ascertain the details of what led to this incident," Colonel David Krumm, the 49th Wing Commander, said in a statement.
The airman's name has not been released.
