EL PASO- Cancer survivors will soon be given a glamorous makeover and post for a photo in the Power of Pink Project, a traveling photo display highlighting those who fought and won against the Big C.
These photographs will accompany a personal message from each survivor that will be displayed at Bassett Place and El Paso’s six major hospitals. The exhibition will circulate between these places during October which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This year’s event will take place on July 29, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the El Paso Community College Cosmetology Dept., located on 9050 Viscount Building. B.
The goal of The Power of Pink Project is to acknowledge the continued lives of each person, to celebrate their beauty, to create a heightened awareness about the issue of breast cancer and to teach those that are newly facing a breast cancer diagnosis that survivorship is possible.
