EL PASO - Just one week ago, Aaron Carrillo and Jon Cervoni were helping a friend with car trouble on the shoulder of Loop 375 late on a Friday night when they were hit by an alleged drunk driver in a pickup. Police identified Hector Tellez as the driver of the truck and he was charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
Friday morning, services for Aaron Carrillo were held at the Abundant Living Faith Center in front of hundreds of mourners. Aaron's father, Fred Carrillo spoke at the emotional service. He spoke of Aaron's faith and wishes for people to take of one another. Mr. Carrillo related a story from his son's early childhood when he calmly comforted an adult saying, "Don't cry. You're not alone. Jesus is right here. In your heart....He was TWO years old when he said that. He left us in awe."
Both Aaron Carrillo and Jon Cervoni played in the Christian rock band "Ancient of Days." The funeral for Cervoni is scheduled for Saturday, July 16th at 1:00 P.M. at St. Pius Catholic Church at 1050 N. Clark.
