EL PASO- School is out for students, but it's a different story for teachers in the Borderland.
More than 1500 teachers in the region registered to attend the Third Annual Education Conference today at the Plaza Theatre. The point of the event is for educators to learn new skills and strategies in the classroom.
"We have it free for all of our teachers to come in and to just listen to the skills that they need to go back into the classroom and be that effective teacher, to reconnect with our students, to get that motivation going again at the beginning of the year," says Barbara Amaya of the Education Service Center.
The event wrapped up around 4:00 p.m. today. We're told teachers from El Paso and Hudspeth Counties, Fort Davis and even New Mexico, showed up.
