EL PASO - Police say two teens trying to help out a friend were killed by a drunk driver in Northeast El Paso on Friday night.
The teens pulled over on the side of Loop 375 last night and got out to help their friend after his car stalled.
Officers say that's when a 32-year man veered off the road and plowed his truck into their car, which then slammed into the friends car.
The crash killed 16-year olds John Cervoni and Aaron Carrillo. Medical crews rushed 17-year old Mark Dobbs and the driver of the truck to local hospitals.
Police say the driver of the truck will be held responsible for his actions.
"At some point in time, we as a community, we as individuals who operate motor vehicles, have to recognize that responsibility lies with us. At some point in time we need to be responsible for our actions," said Darrel Petry, spokesperson for the El Paso Police Department.
Police will book the driver of the truck, who has not been identified, into the County Jail as soon as doctors release him from William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
Once that is done police say they plan on releasing his name.
According to police, the driver of the truck will be charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter
