UPDATE - Firefighters are trying to figure out what started a huge house fire in the Lower Valley early this morning.
It happened in the 300 block of Jensen at around 5:30 a.m. Firefighters rushed to the scene placing a condition 3 on the fire. That means it was burning out of control.
People in surrounding homes had to be evacuated because there was a risk the fire could spread to their homes. We're told there were 5 people inside the home when the fire started. All of them got out of the house safely. Sadly, two dogs died in the fire.
Fire officials say a total of 7 people lived in the home, but 2 people were out of town. The Red Cross will be helping the family with a place to live.
We'll have interviews with witnesses and an update from fire investigators tonight on newschannel nine at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.
