A little more than a week ago, a religious group predicted the rapture, before the end of the world, would begin.
Well, things didn't exactly go as they planned and that's left some believers in limbo.
One of those believers was Johnny Dennis.
On may 21st Dennis was ready.
He believed the rapture was here and heaven would soon come calling.
"That day I must admit I was very nervous. I didn't know what to think or how it was going to happen," said Dennis.
As a believer of the religious group Family Radio, Dennis was part of a movement that for months had used billboards and demonstrations to warn people, the beginning of the end was May 21st.
NewsChannel 9 interviewed him just days before the predicted date.
But when there was no visible sign the end of the world was underway, Dennis - did the only thing he could. He threw himself into scripture.
At first he didn't want to speak publicly.
"I was still digesting and downloading what really just happened. I had witnessed to a lot of people concerning this date as being the final day," he said.
A week later he was ready to open up.
We asked him if he felt fooled by Pastor Harold Camping, the religious leader of Family Radio.
Dennis said, "I don't feel fooled. I've listened to him for several years and no bible teacher is perfect."
Camping now says he misinterpreted the scripture and October 21st is still when the world will end.
"It's so ridiculous. It's amazing to me that it's gotten all of this attention," said Pastor Charles Nieman from the Abundant Living Faith Center.
Charles Nieman is the Pastor of Abundant Living Faith Center in east El Paso.
He like many religious leaders say the bible clearly states, nobody knows when the world will end.
That's one reason he thinks Camping's predictions are dangerous.
"The sad thing is very innocent, well meaning people end up getting deceived and hurt by it."
As for Dennis, while his devotion to bible hasn't wavered, his belief in Camping's predictions are another story.
"I mean it could be the day. But yeah I'm not sure at the moment. I can't say by my own self that this is going to happen."
