DONA ANA COUNTY – New Mexico State Police have identified the driver who was killed in a car crash near Organ, NM, as 20-year-old Cody Rae Diaz.
Investigators say the Las Cruces man lost control of his Honda Civic in the Eastbound lanes of Highway 70 Monday afternoon, hit a median and the vehicle flipped several times.
Diaz died at the scene from massive head injuries. Two passengers in the car were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.
Police said all three were wearing seat belts.
Speed is a suspected factor in the crash.
