CANUTILLO - Dozens of teachers in the Canutillo Independent School District officially got their jobs back Thursday night.
Thanks to Saturday's approval of two tax hikes, all 32 teachers, whose jobs were in jeopardy will return to work in the Fall.
The teachers signed their contracts with the district at Thursday's school board meeting in Canutillo.
More than $3 million in anticipated state budget cuts led to the dismissal of all first-year teachers.
But voters approved the tax increases needed to save their jobs.
