EL PASO - Another phase of the University Medical Center is complete and was open to the public today. The expansion should cut down on wait times and offer better trauma care.
This phase cost $6.7 million and was paid for with UMC's internal reserve funds. It adds 10,500 square feet to the emergency department and supplies new treatment rooms.
Tonight on NewsChannel 9 at 5, 6, and 10, we'll talk to UMC president Jim Valenti about the growing need for better medical care in El Paso.
