AUSTIN - A bill that would require police to check people's immigration statuses after they're taken into custody has been stalled for now.
The House had passed the bill, but a Senate committee stopped it in its tracks.
Many people are concerned that if the bill passes it will lead to racial profiling in Texas.
There's still more than a week left in session, and a chance it could move forward.
