EL PASO - An off-duty Sheriff's Deputy tazed a man after he recognized him for being wanted for criminal trespass.
A press release from the Sheriff's Office says the deputy was working an off duty job as a uniformed security guard at a Petro Stopping Center on Horizon Blvd. when the incident happened.
The deputy recognized Michael Barner, 31, after he walked in to the center. The deputy says he tried to stop him, but the man swung his arms violently before running away. That's when we're told the deputy tazed him.
He was booked in the El Paso County jail, and is facing several charges.
