The Dallas Cowboys held a press conference to introduce their first pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Offensive Lineman Tyron Smith, of USC, was selected 9th overall and received his blue and white jersey with his number, 77, flanked by owner Jerry Jones and Head Coach Jason Garrett.
Offensive line was a priority for Dallas and Smith knows he has a chance to secure a starting spot as a rookie.
"It's a personal goal for me. I feel like my work ethic is going to push me there to get that position," said Smith.
His new Head Coach feels the rookie will be an impact immediately.
"He's going to work to become the best player he can be," said Garrett. "We feel like he has the upside to really be one of the great players in this league."
However, until the recently reinstated NFL lockout is lifted, its the waiting game for Tyron and the rest of the NFL players who are once again shut out of any official activities.
