EL PASO - Investigators report what they call an alarming rise in credit/debit card abuse.
There were 68 reports of these kind of crimes in the month of April.
That compares to 47 during the same month a year ago.
Investigators think "skimming" is a factor in these crimes. That is when someone gets a hold of your card and is able to swipe it on a device that is easily hidden and stores the information which is retrieved later.
