District Clerk Facing Two Lawsuits

Newschannel Nine has obtained a copy of a lawsuit filed against El Paso District Clerk Gilbert Sanchez.

In the lawsuit, a former employee is saying she was wrongfully dismissed from her job.

Court documents state the woman reported to a judge that Sanchez had wanted to collect courtroom fees but in an illegal manner..

She says Sanchez fired her for it, claiming her communication with the judge violated District Clerk policies.

We called Sanchez but he told us he won't comment because he's not been served.
