EL PASO— A narcotics investigation at a local bar by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office led to the seizure of cocaine and the arrest of two persons.
EPCSO’s investigation at a bar at 1160 Airway Blvd. led to the arrest of Jesus Alfredo Acosta, 29, after nearly 2.5 pounds (997.1 grams) of cocaine was seized. Acosta was arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance over 400 grams.
EPCSO went back to the bar to conduct a follow up investigation, and as detectives approached the bar, 31-year-old Rene Tarango Prado saw the detectives and reached into his pocket, removed a small plastic baggie and threw it away.
Deputies retrieved the baggie and found .3 grams of cocaine. Prado resisted arrest. He was charged with possession of controlled substance under one gram and resisting arrest.
The investigation continues.
