EL PASO - An event to help keep children safe was held in El Paso today, in honor of April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The event was to prevent child abuse. At-risk families were especially asked to attend. The event featured games and other fun activities, aimed at mitigating stress on families.
"Part of what we wanted to do in celebration of this is to help strengthen families, thus strengthening our communities, thus...protecting children in the long run, by empowering families by teaching them to come out and look for fun things to do as a family," said Child Protective Services' Elizabeth Muller.
We're told up to 2,000 people attended the event. It was put on by Child Protective Services for the 4th straight year.
