EL PASO— A man is in serious condition Wednesday after a roll over ejected him from his truck near Canutillo.
El Paso police said Lorenzo Loera, 23, was driving a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup west on I-10, and was speeding. Police said Loera lost control of his vehicle and hit a cable separating I-10 west and east. The truck slid across west bound lanes of traffic and into a dirt embankment, causing the truck to roll over several times.
Loera was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the truck. He was taken to University Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.
Speed, alcohol, and failure to wear a seat belt appear to be factors in this accident. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The investigation continues.
