EL PASO— A gas line was hit Monday afternoon, causing emergency services in the Sun City to close up roads as they attempted to fix the break.
The leak occurred when an excavator was digging a trench on the construction site of a new hotel at Gateway East and I-10, causing the off ramp for Airway and Geronimo to be closed down for more than three hours.
El Paso police officers assisted the El Paso Fire Department's firefighters as Texas Gas Services controlled the leak. No evacuations were needed, but traffic was stalled on I-10.
No injuries or damage was reported.
