EL PASO COUNTY - A wanted fugitive is now behind bars after leading Sheriff's deputies on two pursuits yesterday.
19-year-old Felipe Rojas was wanted for two counts of theft of property, a felony. The deputy spotted him in the 9000 block of Alameda yesterday around 9 a.m. but the suspect ran away into a junkyard. The deputy, who called for backup, couldn't locate the suspect and the search was called off.
Later that same day at 2 p.m., deputies received a tip on where Rojas was and found him at an apartment complex by Zaragosa and Betel. Rojas saw the patrol car and fled again, this time toward the Ranchers Market Grocery Store. Deputies caught up with him and he is now in custody.
