JAPAN— Low levels of radiation were detected on 17 U.S. Navy crewmembers that were assisting the earthquake shattered country.
The radiation was found on helicopter crew members after they returned from delivering supplies.
The U.S.S. Reagan sailed away from the Japanese coast to dodge more radiation, but the Navy said the move was only temporary.
The 17 members of the helicopter crews were cleaned. The radiation level was is not harmful.
The Department of Defense also released video of sailors from the U.S.S. Reagan delivering supplies to Japan. The video was shot on Sunday before the U.S.S. Reagan sailed from the coast.
