Ford Motor Co. says it will recall nearly 150,000 F-150 pickup trucks. The automaker said this is due to faulty air bags that could deploy without warning.
The recall covers trucks from the 2005-2006 model years in the United States and Canada.
The government had concerns about the problem. However, the recall is much smaller than what the government wanted. Last month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration told the company the recall should cover 1.3 million vehicles from the 2004-2005 model year, after dozens of injuries were reported.
