EL PASO - "We decided today was a good day, a good way to remember the anniversary," Scherchel said.
Whatever their reason dozens of couples in El Paso decided to say I do.
Kenneth Scherchel, decided to go find the love of his life, who he hasn't stopped thinking about in almost a decade.
"Nine years later, I went out there to go find her to see how things were going with her. She was single and I was single and we found that we still loved each other," Scherchel.
Juan Quezada didn't take any chances and popped the question while he and his future wife were already on their way to the courthouse.
"I woke her up today and on the way over there I told her, 'Surprise we're going to get married today, happy Valentine's,' and I gave her a big old kiss," Quezada said.
"You want to go get married? And I was like sure and I didn't even get to dress up, but that doesn't matter," Jennifer Quezada said.
Valentine's Day was already a day full of love and memories in this family and Jennifer Quezada says she is happy to have one more reason to celebrate.
"And today is my dad's birthday too, so it's a special day, Valentine's, our wedding day and my dad's birthday," Jennifer Quezada said.
