EL PASO-- At least one person is dead Friday afternoon after he allegedly took a gun from a Sheriff's Deputy and shot and killed himself, according to a law enforcement source.
El Paso County Sheriff's Office said a 19-year-old took a deputy's weapon during a struggle after the deputy found out that the 19-year-old had a felony warrant for aggravated assault. At that point, the teen pointed the gun at the deputy before turning it on himself.
Witnesses have told News Channel 9 that three teens, all male, were walking near the Boys & Girls Club of El Paso when they were stopped by a deputy. One of the three teens ran from the deputy, but returned and rushed at the deputy. The teen overpowered the deputy and grabbed the deputy's gun, where he then shot and killed himself.
Employees at the Club also said they had closed early and that all of the children had been sent home at the time of the shooting.
Sheriff's Deputies are at the scene and are currently investigating this scene.
