Even though national signing day was on Wednesday, February 3, most high schools signed their letters of intent on that day, but held their signing day celebrations today. At Coronado, four players signed to play football in college:
Cole Freytag signed with UTEP. Freytag was named the District 1-5A Co-MVP this past season and passed for 563 yards, rushed for 649 yards and had 309 yards receiving. He also returned four kickoffs for scores. Freytag will play receiver at UTEP.
Adams Roberts signed with San Diego State University. Roberts is a solid pass-catching tight end and had a good senior campaign for the 8-4 T-Birds.
Rafael Velgis signed to play football at Harding University, a solid Division 2 football powerhouse.
Hani Annabi signed to play football at John Hopkins University, also a solid Division 2 powerhouse.
Chapin High School's Justin Chacon signed to play Linebacker with Mary-Hardin Baylor. The Cru, or Crusaders, are a top Division 3 team.
