EL PASO - Dozens of family and friends gathered for a vigil and a memorial for a man killed in a motorcycle crash last night in East El Paso.
At least 100 people came together on Zaragoza and Saul Kleinfeld to remember 21-year-old Javier Thomas.
He died in a motorcycle crash last night.
Police believe he ran a yellow light and slammed into a car.
Wednesday night, family and friends came together to pay their respects and remember the young man.
We spoke to Thomas's mother, Guadalupe Chavira, who would remind him of the dangers of riding a motorcycle.
"I would tell him to take care of himself, that it was very dangerous and maybe it was better for him to drive a car because he didn't have much experience riding a motorcycle," said Chavira. "It was only about four months that he had a motorcycle."
Chavira hopes others will learn from her family's loss and says she wants people to remember her son as a noble and hardworking man.
This is the 6th traffic-related death of the year in El Paso.
