CANUTILLO--- A toddler is killed within feet of her home, after what appears to be an runover accident, said El Paso Co. Sheriff's deputies.
Deputies received a call in the 7100 block of Seventh St. in Canutillo just after 6 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they learned the 21-month old toddler had been run over by a truck that was pulling out of the drive way.
Deputies say the little girl was hit by her 35-year-old aunt driving a white Ford Expedition.
Several emergency crews quickly responded, administering CPR, but she died at the scene.
Deputies say it looks like to be an accident at this point, but they still have to look into how the child was left unattended.
"Maybe it was an oversight. Maybe parents thought she was in the other room, and she ended up going out the front door, the side door. I don't know the details to what led the child to be outside," said Sheriff's spokesman Dep. Jesse Tovar.
As of right now deputies do not believe alcohol was factor in the accident.
