Almost every time it rains, this area in Socorro gets inundated with water. To help alleviate some of the flooding, several projects have been put into place, including one on Stockyard Road.
Neighbors say two months ago workers began building a bridge out there to help cars get through when it rains.
Joe Avila lives nearby and says the problem is there has hardly been any work done in the past month and that's causing headaches for commuters.
Neighbors living on one side of the road say that causes a major inconvenience because they can no longer use Stockyard Road to get over to Gateway East.
Mayor Trini Lopez says the Socorro City Council voted to move public works employees to another project for a couple of weeks.
He tells us he has since asked the public works director to get the employees back to the Stockyard project, so they can finish it as soon as possible.
