January and February are important months because documents like W-2's should be arriving in the mail.
This year's filing will be different for a few reasons. One is almost all filing must be done electronically. Another difference is a District of Columbia holiday, which may be good news for some.
"Instead of April 15th, which is a Friday, and that would have been normally the days it's due, you can kick off and wait until Monday the 18th," said certified personal accountant David Marcus.
