FORT HOOD, TX - The U.S. Army is trying to figure out why its largest post saw a record number of suicides last year.
22 soldiers at Fort Hood either killed themselves or are suspected of committing suicide.
That is double the number of suicides from 2009 and nearly two-and-a-half times the national average for the same age group.
The army says it is actively working to reduce the trend and has assigned more than 170 behavioral health workers to the post.
