Being the one to offer a helping hand isn't an easy task.
That doesn't stop the Rescue Mission on Paisano from making a difference in hundreds of people's holidays.
Mark Eaglen is the Rescue Mission's assistant manager and chef.
He says preparations for today's Christmas dinner started weeks in advance.
Cooks serve up a delicious meal of turkey and all the fixings.
Eaglen says donations and volunteers are what make the dinner possible.
This Christmas a lot of children were among those who volunteered their time..
Eaglen says these meals and the support and love that goes into making them do more than just fill people's stomachs.
It let's the homeless and less fortunate know they're not forgotten.
For him that's really what it's all about.
