El Paso astronaut Danny Olivas and the rest of the discovery blasted off into space successfully Friday evening.
This was the 4th attempt for Discovery to blast off into space.
The first launch was scrubbed due to weather.
The second time problems with a fuel valve caused the delay, and last night's launch was scrapped because engineers wanted to take a closer look at the valve situation.
The crew will take about 17,000 lbs. of equipment to the international space station, including a sleeping compartment.
The 13-day mission will include three spacewalks so astronauts can retrieve experiments outside the International Space Station and replace an empty ammonia storage tank.
