Despite coming back from a 17-0 deficit to take a 27-23 lead late in the fourth quarter against the defending champion Saints, the Dallas Cowboys were done in by a familiar foe.
Leading by 4 points with 3:13 left in the game, Dallas receiver Roy Williams took a pass 47 yards down the middle of the field inside the New Orleans 15 yard line before defensive back Malcolm Jenkins ripped the ball away from Williams resulting in a Saints possession. Drew Brees subsequently took his team the length of the field for the decisive 12-yard touchdown pass to Lance Moore giving the Saints the 30-27 edge.
Kicker David Buehler had a chance to tie the game with a 59-yard field goal with 30 seconds left in the game but the kick went wide left. The Jason Garrett win streak ends at 2 games as the Cowboys fall to 3-8 and now must prepare for a showdown with the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Field.
