Dallas extended Detroits NFL record longest road losing streak to 26 games as the Cowboys beat Detroit 35-19 at New Cowboys Stadium.
Dallas used a combination of big offensive plays and special teams to control the game including a 97-yard punt returned for a touchdown by Bryan McCann that gave the Cowboys a 14-12 lead that they wouldn't relinquish. It's the second big play in as many weeks for McCann who returned an Eli Manning interception 101-yards for a touchdown last week against the New York Giants.
Detroit outgained the Cowboys in total yards 338 to 265 but Jon Kitna's three touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown were more than enough to help Dallas move to 2-0 under interim head coach Jason Garrett.
"I think what we are finding out about our football team, is that it has a lot of fight," said Garrett.
Dallas now has a short week before they host the New Orleans Saints on Thanksgiving Thursday.
