EL PASO - Nine El Paso families feel especially grateful on this last weekend before Thanksgiving.
Twenty foster children received forever homes as the El Paso County Court House celebrated National Adoption Day. More than 115,000 children in the United States live in foster care... including about a hundred in the Sun City.
"All they need is a caring environment. Somebody to love them, somebody to take care of them...some stability and they could flourish if they just had that so invite anybody who's listening, who's even thinking of adopting a child to think of a foster child to adopt," said Judge Yahara Lisa Gutierrez.
The adopted children began living in foster care as a result of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
