EL PASO - "Veterans Day...what does it mean to me? It means a whole lot. It means support of all armed veterans...especially the ones that gave some and the ones that gave all."
As El Pasoans take to the streets of downtown to salute the red, white and blue... many veterans gather to support each other as brothers and sisters in arms.
"I'm right here, visiting my comrades. Veteran's day...it's a great day today."
Veterans Day reminds us to think about what these brave men and women confront on a daily basis.
"Like a lot of people say Thanksgiving, Christmas. I come out here, you know, like I said, to look at the veterans, salute them and it's hard."
Veteran Arthur Montano says El Paso observes this holiday like no other city.
"This is definitely a military town. If it wasn't for the retirees, El Paso would be quite small and Fort Bliss continues to support it and I know the people from El Paso just love the heck out of them."
While the parade provides a support group for some... many use the event to teach a lesson on patriotism to the next generation.
"Hopefully, it'll be a tradition of hers to come out and support them the same way as I do."
