With Halloween coming up, most people get spooked at the price of costumes. To save a few dollars, some people are turning to costume rentals.
The UTEP dinner theater is just one company that let's you rent elaborate costumes for just around $25. Considering Americans are expected to spend $1 billion on costumes this year, that could be a bargain.
"I think renting is smart because you rent it for the weekend, then you return it and you won't have that added expense that you would at a store," said costume designer Jaime Barba.
All of the costumes from the UTEP Dinner Theater have been used in their productions. If you want to rent a costume, they'll be set up at UTEP's Union Plaza all this week from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
According to the National Retail Foundation, 40% of adults are expected to dress in costume to celebrate this year.
