New progress is being made on the proposed high-speed
rail system in El Paso. Texas, New Mexico and Colorado are expected to submit a joint pre-application for up to $5-million to study the viability of a high-speed rail system. The lines would go from El Paso, through New Mexico to Denver. Congress has authorized up to eleven high-speed rail corridors nationwide. Ten have already been designated.
