After suffering both a shoulder and severe ankle sprain in their loss Saturday against UAB, UTEP Quarterback Trevor Vittatoe was listed as questionable for this week game against Tulane.
Head Coach Mike Price has decided to close practice this week to the media but prior to practice Wednesday, Vittatoe spoke with reporters and said that he believes he will play.
"This injury was kind of minor. It set me back, gave me a lot of pain during the game," said Vittatoe. "But I think with all the work I've done in the training room, it's really getting me back quick."
If he cannot play Saturday, coaches say senior backup James Thomas II would take over.
The Miners take on Tulane Saturday, 7PM at the Sunbowl.
