New Mexico State running back Kenny Turner and childhood friend Chris Johnson, running back for the Tennessee Titans, will be featured on E:60, Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. (MT) on ESPN. Turner and Johnson were high school teammates at Olympia High School in Olympia, Fla.
This year, Turner has rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns, while coming off his best game of the season at Fresno State. He rushed for 79 yards on 15 carries, scoring his second touchdown of the season on a 19-yard run late in the fourth quarter. He also led the Aggies with three catches for 61 yards, both career highs.
“Kenny (Turner) is probably the most versatile running back we have, so we have to find a way to put him in position to get the ball in his hands. We know, as a runner, Seth (Smith) is going to make plays. We have to identify our play makers and we have to find a way to get the ball in these guys’ hands and score more points," said Head Coach DeWayne Walker.
