EL PASO - Rational explanations just won't do for some El Pasoans.
They would rather believe we were visited by extra-terrestrials.
We have only ourselves to blame.
A NewsChannel 9 photographer shot some strange looking lights over Northeast El Paso Friday night.
What we suspected turned out to be the most plausible explanation - at least to us.
Amigo Airsho executives confirmed the lights came from a patriotic performance by the Army's precision parachute team known as the Golden Knights.
One viewer isn't buying it, e-mailing us, "No one likes to say it so I will. It was aliens I tell you."
Another wrote, "Ya, Golden Knights can totally hover in one spot."
Yet another e-mail says, "I was hoping for something more too but to no avail."
An amateur astronomer suggested the lights were space junk saying our pictures have "a traditional signature common of such phenomena."
Then there's this Hollywood explanation from one viewer: "Ironman and his creations making their presence known."
The truth is out there...somewhere.
