According to the National Retail Foundation, Americans are expected to spend more this Halloween this year than last.
Americans may spend as much as $66 on a costume, according to the NRF'S 2010 Halloween Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey. Spending nationwide may reach as high at $5.8 billion.
Local stores, like Spirit near Sunland Park Mall, are enjoying a boost in sales already this year. Industry experts say it's because the holiday is getting bigger and better every year, becoming more than just a celebration for children.
