EL PASO - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Strike Team received a Crime Stoppers tip on the whereabouts of a wanted felon sought by El Paso law enforcement.
Information indicated the fugitive identified as Juan Monarez, with several outstanding criminal warrants, was set to arrive in El Paso via a bus line.
Monarez had been eluding capture since 2009 and is said to have fled to Phoenix, AZ.
Strike Team Deputies commenced surveillance in the area of a bus terminal in Central El Paso.
At approximately 3:56 am deputies spotted Monarez exiting a bus.
Deputies approached Monarez and arrested him without incident. He was booked and remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility.
