If you're thinking about making any home improvements, here's an incentive.
The IRS is giving you a break if you decide to go green.
You can earn a residential energy credit of up to $1,500 by replacing windows and doors that meet IRS requirements.
The incentive expires at the end of the year.
Grace Pitzer is the owner of Borderland Windows and Doors, she says that making these changes will keep the heat out of your home in the summer, and keep the warmth in your home in the winter.
"And if they're thinking about changing out their windows and sliding glass doors, now is the time to do it before the end of the year to get that tax credit. And they do have to be installed by the end of the year to qualify for that tax credit."
Pitzer says you can make up the difference in the cost of the windows in a year or two in energy savings.
