Keep El Paso Beautiful in collaboration with Sparks Colonia residents and several other organizations is holding it's third Sparks Community Cleanup.
ANd they need volunteers. If you'd like to help out here the information you need to know.
WHAT: The third scheduled Clean-up of Sparks Colonia – Volunteers are needed!
WHEN: Saturday September 18, 2010 beginning at 7:30 a.m. to noon.
WHERE: Volunteers are to meet at the Socorro Ramirez Community Center, 106 Peyton, at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010
WHY: For years, Sparks community members have complained about illegal dumping, trash and debris in the area, and dumped tires that represent health and safety hazards. KEPB has been investing, over the past several months, $73,000 in this united effort to build awareness and empower community members in their efforts to beautify Sparks and enhance their quality of life. During the first two clean-ups over 4500 tires and 335 tons of illegally dumped trash was removed and properly disposed of.
Hundreds of volunteers are on board including over 75 Socorro High School NJROTC Cadet, Texas Gas Service employees, and Sparks residents. Additional volunteers are needed.
All supplies for the clean will be provided by KEPB. Refreshments and hot dogs will be available to all volunteers.
This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community and be part of enhancing the quality of life for all residents of Sparks.
