Colonel Ed Manning from Fort Bliss says construction crews are building at a pace of 2 million dollars a day.
When all projects are complete, which is set for sometime in 2012, they'll have spent more than 4 billion dollars in construction.
Most of the construction isn't visible from the traditional outlines of the post.
But, if you head out to East Fort Bliss, near the Loop 375, you'll see a new city popped up - out of the ground.
Right now there are dozens of contractors and hundreds of workers.. on site building new barracks, airplane hangers and a variety of other facilities.
Projects that have given El Paso's economy a boost.
Bringing in jobs for local constractors and construction workers.
The landscape of the post has completely changed.
